The Potchefstroom Campus of the NWU, under the patronage of the Office of the Rector, held a fundraising concert in aid of alumnus, Christa Steyn, on 25 February 2012. The idea of the concert came from the singer Coenie de Villiers and he and Jannie du Toit approached PUK Arts to help them. Artéma, in association with PUK Arts, produced the concert.
The concert was an once-in-a-lifetime experience that was supported by the Office of the Rector, the Office of the Vice-chancellor and the broader community of Potchefstroom.
A total amount of more than R115 000 was raised of which the amount of R10 000 (according to Christa’s wish) was donated to the local branch of Cansa’s Relay for Life. The remnant was paid to Christa.
